"Mommy, it's DAYTIME get UP." Glad I got a jump ahead and beat Goose to IT today! It's TUESDAY and
one of my fav. things about TUESDAY is Small Treasure Tuesday with Chantel . It's a wonderful weekday reminder to be THAnKfuL!
As today is Primary Day, in my great state of Florida, I am choosing to Be Grateful for FREEDOM!! Although, it can be quite easy to point out all the things I think are "wrong" or don't agree with I am very thankful that I live in this great land!!
I am thankful for all of those who came before me and were willing to lay down their lives. A great price was paid for my freedom, from generations past to present day. To our Armed Forces and our Veterans, I say "THANK YOU"! I am grateful that in this country we have something call RIGHTS. They are a priviledge taken much to lightly by many in today's world. I have the right to speak my opinion, to bear arms, to worship and to vote!(Yes, I know there are more...:.) Thank YOU to our Founding Fathers who had the courage and conviction to stand up for "Justice and Liberty for all"! Lastly, I am grateful for YOU, my neighbors! It takes ALL of us to make this country great!
Today's daily verse from Proverbs is Prov. 24:21-22
"Fear the Lord and the king, my son, and do not join the rebellious, (22) for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who knows what calamities they may bring?"
Not only do I have a duty to God, I have a duty to my country. God's word tells us to fulfill those duties and to honor those who lead us. Perhaps that includes all the name calling and fault finding so prevelant today. It most certainly reminds me to VOTE, to be LAW ABIDING, and Pay my Taxes.(I'm not sayin these are ALL my FAV things to do either:)
If you missed my GIVEAWAY POST there's still time to ENTER HERE !
Happy Tuesday Neighbor:)

What a great attitude. I really love how you said this: "Although, it can be quite easy to point out all the things I think are "wrong" or don't agree with I am very thankful that I live in this great land!!"
ReplyDeleteSo true.
Very well put :-) I too am so grateful to live in this great land. Some things that are going on do make me worry that we are at risk of losing those rights, but that will only happen if we, the people, let it :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so grateful as well for the founding fathers and how inspired the constitution is. In fact I'm going to be teaching a class soon on the constitution and founding fathers. :-)
Thanks for linking up to Small Treasure Tuesdays!
Thank you for your nice comment on my blog.

We did a tour of some of our great land's National Parks earlier this summer and it's hard to explain how it felt standing and looking at Mt. Rushmore for the first time in my life...so many men (and women) do great things to keep us free. Our greatest freedom is in Christ, however, and we must not let the weight of the world sit heavy on us...that's hard to do some days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my site earlier!
Denise, I'm your newest follower from iFellowship.
ReplyDeleteI too am a huge fan of voting!! And praying for our country's leaders no matter what party they are from either!! God commands us to pray for our leaders and to live according to the law of the land.
I enjoyed visiting your blog today and will come back often!
If you get a chance I would love for you to come see me too over at Living Above Ministries.
Have a nice evening!
