What a WHIRL these last few days have been! I spent most of Sat. night and yesterday recuperating. I am happy to report that TODAY is a much better day(physically). I was up late Friday working on some last minute projects to put out in a yard sale at my best friends. I lugged all of my "JUNK" over to her house Friday and we had a one day sale on Saturday! For a one day sale we did pretty good. :) YEAAAAA!!!!
Unfortunately very few people even asked about my work:( But hey, it was a yard sale, after all. Not quite the setting for handmade goods! SOOOOO, what did I have up for grabs? Well,
LET ME SHOW YOU!
Anyone in the MOOD for some FISH???? The denim here is RECLAIMED from a large pair of jeans. The fish print is RECLAIMED from a shower curtain. The light blue fabric(on the adult apron) is RECLAIMED from a sheet.
Total Cost to ME:
Thread & Time
NOT bad at all. Don't you agree?? The great thing about this set is that it's more of a Unisex set, without the ruffles and "prettiness" of my other aprons. And, because the denim is such a nice weight, I did not have to line them. AND, I actually got to use a SERGER with this project......( my attempts at threading said serger is a WHOLE 'nother story girls!!!)
I see some Christmas gifts in the making, Don't YOU??? I've got a couple other projects(WELL, it is more than a couple) I am working on, stay tuned for more adventure:)
I'm linkin up to It' So Very Thrifty!
Hope you all had a wonderful, Peaceful weekend!!
Well let me first say I read your little about me...very cute, and inspiring to say the least! I love what you did to the denim! Wish I was that crafty, but I am NOT! Thanks for joining in on the party...I am on vaca, and checking things out quickly in between...I would love for you to add my link too, so that others know about the party:) Thanks again...Debbie

I know, I have a serger and when I have to change thread I dread it!!! And if you don't use it all the time it is like learning all over again! the fish are great, good job!

ReplyDeleteGreat use of a pair of jeans! Yes, garage sale-ers rarely show interest in handmade goods.
